May 2023 Newsletter

Dear TCLS Friends,

We finished the busy month of April with a flurry of activity as we enjoyed a fun-filled Men's Member Guest weekend! We would like to thank all the volunteers who spent countless hours preparing for three days of non-stop fun. Member Volunteers spent months planning with David and the team to ensure a successful event. No fewer than 10 Members helped in the weeks prior to the tournament by marking and mowing the course. Finally, we had a dozen Members who were up at 5:00 am helping stage carts and prepare for our three days of fun. Watch for our announcement recognizing the players and all the volunteers who made the event a wonderful success. For those unable to participate, we will be hosting several one-day Member Guests events this year and we hope to double the size of the field for our 2024 Men's Member Guest.

Our Staff has been working hard to get the pool complex ready for our "soft opening" the first week of May. We have reconditioned the pool deck and existing pool furniture, purchased supplemental furniture and are in the process of adding new amenities to include ping pong tables, mini golf areas and new drink machines for our adult sunbathers! It will be a great summer at the pool pavilion! Please make sure to reserve a spot for you children at our annual Summer Camp. Madison has planned a series of themed camp adventures that last the whole summer!

Out on the golf course, Darren and his staff are busy getting the course in shape for a wonderful golf season. We will begin the renovation of tee box #13 on Monday, May 1 and hope to have that project completed by Friday, May 5 th . We are also in the process of cleaning all the areas surrounding new cart path installation and finishing with new sod. Please stay of freshly sodded areas, as they will be extremely wet while we establish the new sod. We have also contracted to have our driving range teeing area redesigned to double the size and with a more aggressive turf to speed grow in of divots. The addition of a range mat at the rear of the range will complete the project beginning August 1, 2023. David was extremely busy in the Golf Shop in April while hosting the full-field Annual Chamber Classic Tournament and our Men's Member Guest. There is no rest for the weary as David will be ready for our Ladies Member Guest on Wednesday, May 3. We are so proud to have such and active Ladies Golf Association and look forward to this Annual Event. The good news is we hope to have "help on the way" as we begin interviewing Golf Professionals to assist David.

Greg has been busy "freshening" the interior of the Club. As we are celebrating 5 years as The Club at Lake Sinclair, it is time to replace carpet and freshen paint to keep our Club looking like new. We are working on many landscaping projects to beautify the perimeter of the Club as well.

We have seen exciting growth since the Pandemic. We are confident we will reach our "Membership Cap" during the month of May. If you have family or friends who have not yet joined The Club, please let them know there is no better time to join; each new member referred by a current member will receive a $200 Club Credit. It is our intent to cap membership at 600 family memberships, at least temporarily to make sure our current members always have an opportunity to enjoy all that the Club has to offer. After we assess our growth, we may open a small number of additional membership to "Legacy" applicants or those related to or referred by current Members.

Thank you for your support and friendship!
Jeff
