August Fireside Chat
Dear TCLS Members,
Wow! What a great month of July. We enjoyed a whirlwind of social activities, many of which were
inaugural events. Our Yoga classes were taught by the professional from Harmony Yoga were well
attended. Classes at 5:30 am and 9:00 am allowed everyone the opportunity to attend! The Dog Days
of Summer event allowed Dog owners to enjoy the Club with their best friend. Trey Owens Dog … was
amazing with his frisbee skills, but every dog was a winner. Lots of toys, treats and “frosty paws” doggy
ice cream were enjoyed by all our fur babies! Our first installment of “Music with Friends” was a huge
hit. Frank and Jackie Lunsford, accompanied by their daughter Nichole entertained us with their musical
talents. Jason and his team served a wonderful meal. The family and friend’s atmosphere was what
TCLS is all about! We finished the month with our first ever Dive-In Movie featuring the Lion King.
Nearly 100 adult and children members enjoyed a great night at the pool with popcorn, burgers, dogs
and chicken tenders while watching the movie. Dive-In Movies will be become a regularly scheduled
event. Burger Night continued to grow every week and is nearing capacity!
David and his team at the Golf Shop would not be out done! David hosted three nine and dine events,
several complimentary Junior and Women’s Golf Clinics, a Taylor Made Demo Day, our first ever Parent
Child Golf Tournament and the Men’s Club Championship. Congratulations to Ryan Steelman who beat
out Chris Howington to become the 2019 Gross Club Champion! Scott Deeson edged out Brian Wooten
to become the net Club Champion!
Matthew Fitzpatrick, our Golf Course Superintendent has kept the course in great shape in spite of the
sever drought we have been experiencing. The greens are in great shape and were lightning quick for
the Club Championship! It is hard to believe that Matthew has only been with us for about 6 months.
We are excited as we plan for continuous improvement during the 2020 growing season.
Our August Calendar is packed with events for all our Members. Please check our event listing and plan
to attend our Ladies Night, Yoga will continue, Bingo with Greg, Texas Hold ‘em nights, Nine and Dine,
Junior and Ladies Golf Clinics, Dive In Movies, our Back to School Bash, Family Trivia, the Kayak the
Oconee Trip, Ladies Day Our and our Adult Trivia night! By popular demand, Burger Night will continue
throughout the month of August!
Finally, we will be offering more activities and services in the coming months. Our Tennis courts are
being completely renovated to include pickle ball. We will have a tennis ball launcher for practice by
yourself or in groups. We will have loaner tennis and pickleball rackets so everyone can enjoy. We will
offer complimentary tennis clinics and have a tennis professional available for individual and group
lessons. The Club has also purchased several Kayaks which will be available for member use on a first
come first serve basis. Please watch for more information about these added amenities.
It truly is a great time to be a Member at The Club at Lake Sinclair! Please invite your friends and
colleagues to join us!
